Box Jumps Are A Great Workout
Here’s a great work work out you can easily do at home. It’s’ great for men and women, and really works your lower body.
Box jumps are part of the exercises we teach in Paleoburn. They are based around high intensity training methods, where you do intense work for short periods.
Depending on your fitness level 3-5 mins of box jumps will leave you completely exhausted.
Just start small and slowly make it harder as you get better. If actually jumping is difficult for you, then turn the jump into a step up. Alternate legs till you can’t step any more.
HIIT, or high intensity interval training, is becoming very popular because it gets a lot of exercise done in a short amount of time. It gets your heart rate up and also doubles as cardio. Plus it has an incredible effect stimulating the right kind of hormones for fat loss.
Strapped for time? Your results don’t have to stall. High-intensity interval training (HIIT) – short bursts of intense exercise with short recovery breaks in between – is one of the most efficient techniques fitness professionals use today. According to researchers from Canada’s McMaster University, 10 one-minute sprints on a standard stationary bike with about one minute of rest in between, three times a week, works muscles as well as 10 hours of continuous moderate bicycling exercise over a two-week period. Besides getting you more results in less time, HIIT workouts beat boredom by regularly switching up speed and intensity, says Matthews.
